The Department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Michigan is proud to announce a fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine (PM&R ACGME Accredited). This is a one year clinical fellowship that will enable the fellow to sit for Spinal Cord Medicine boards in the future. This fellowship is funded through the University of Michigan ACGME, and the majority of the fellowship time is spent at the UofM medical Center in conjunction with the University of Michigan Model Spinal Cord Injury Care System.

The fellowship provides training in the diagnosis and classification of various types of SCI, pathophysiology of the spinal cord and affected body systems, clinical decision making and managment of traumatic and atraumatic SCI, urological and pain interventions, spasticity mangagement, research statistics in SCI medicine, rehabilitation technology/engineering, excercise physiology, biomechanic and cognitive/behavioral mangement strategies for persons with SCI.

The UM PM&R faculty includes 27 physicians, among them eight SCI board-certified physicians, as well as 9 PhD faculty. If interested in applying to this program, please submit a current CV and 3 letters of recommendation to:
