It's stated in FirstAid that "Spleen arises in mesentery of stomach (hence is mesodermal) but is supplied by foregut (celiac artery)." I am thoroughly confused as to why it would use the conjunction "but." Is it suggesting that mesodermal structures would normally be supplied by blood supplies other than celiac artery? If so, what would be such blood supplies? I'd greatly appreciate any help.
