Never heard of one. Closest thing is Binocular Vison probably. May just want to find a school that has staff interested in the matter.

Though we had a prof who got awards for sports vision work and never even gave a lecture on it. 😕

Look into SUNY. I don't know that they offer a sports vision residency, but their BV residency had a great reputation when I was in school and as Indiana said, that's probably the closest you will get.

Does anyone here know how lucrative sports vision therapy is? It's not even the money I am really thinking about, but what the opportunities are for an optometrist to be able to focus on it.... I had been thinking about it for a long time, but somewhere just got the idea that our abilities weren't something that were too much appreciated by the "athletic community". I would appreciate any insight.

i think it all depends on who you know and who you can get in with. one of the teachers at my school does a lot of sports vision stuff... the la dodgers actually fly him out for spring training and i believe he sees all the baseball players for 2 or 3 teams... so its definitely out there as a choice... im pretty sure what he does at spring training is just be available to whoever wants him for whatever reason.. be it training, contacts etc...

I've actually heard of an optometrist who is the team optometrist for both the Edmonton Oilers (NHL) and the Edmonton Eskimoes (CFL)......sounds very fun.
