hey guys. i'm a junior right now. i'm taking biochem and physiology right now. and i've taken all the prereqs except physics which i will start in the spring. i'm a sociology major so i need to finish that up as well.

what would you suggest from this list?
328 Human Anatomy (don't know if I can get in this class, might just be for pre-nursing, and pre-PA kids)
101 General Microbiology
303 Biology of Microorganisms
100 The Microbial World
341 Immunology
500 Undergrad Neurobiology Seminar
350 Parasitology
454 Behavioral Neuroscience

or is this something else you would highly recommend?

thanks!!🙂

Neuroscience or Biology of Microorganisms (since it is upper division). Does your school offer histology? That would be very helpful once you start dental school.

I would also highly recommend human anatomy (if you can get in). Some dental schools still dissect human cadavers, or at least study the details of human anatomy

ak47, I'm in a similar situation but haven't taken Physiology. I don't mean to hijack your post, but was going to take Micro and Anatomy and am wondering if anyone recommends Physiology instead of one of those?

This is the order that I would rank those courses in regards to what you should take, assuming that they are all 3+ credit hour courses:
Human Anatomy
Neurobiology
Biology of Microorganisms
The 2 100 lvls courses, but only if they actually get into any real detail
Immunology
Behavioral Neuroscience - if this is truly behavioral based, with little neuroanatomy, don't bother, take the other neuro
Parisitology

Estrella, I would lean towards anatomy and physio...I have not taken them, but from what I have seen, the biochem/micro that will be on the boards and possibly covered in undergrad is quite simple. Physio is tougher, it would probably be better to have some exposure to it before entering dental school.

Take Biology of Microorganisms (303). It is highly highly highly recommended, and some people on here have even said their app was considered incomplete without a microbiology class. HIGHLY IMPORTANT.
