Hi guys,

So I'm taking the MCAT in April and I was planning on making spring my last semester because I only have 12 credits left to take.

However, now I'm wondering if it'd be a good idea to not take any classes in the spring to focus entirely on the MCAT. I also don't have any research experience, so I'd really like to do research in the spring as well. And then I could just finish my undergrad degree next fall.

Is this a good idea? Would I still be able to apply for med schools/ submit my AAMC application in the summer despite still being in school?

Thanks!

Personal opinion here, but between a full credit course load, participating in meaningful research, and prepping for the MCAT, I would only choose two of the options and excel at them rather than haphazardly attempt all 3 at the same time (if, I had the option- as you seemingly do).

Yes, you can still submit your primary application while enrolled as a student. The traditional route to medical school is to apply while you're a senior student and immediately begin medical school the summer/fall semester following undergrad graduation.
