Anybody have one? They look great and I like what people are saying about them. In the next year I'd really like to grab the 9mm. I heard that even though are a full sized pistol people are concealing them comfortably in the Crossbreed Supertuck holster. I just recently got a little more into firearms, after taking a liking to busting clays at the local shotgun range.

I've just been going to Happy Hollow in Sapulpa. $5/25 birds on the 5 stand. Can't swing the $270 start up fee for Red Castle. That's $100 more than my shotgun cost!

They increased the Orientation fee again? Damn, it was $180 4 years ago. I live in the middle of the highest concentrations of NRA instructors and there isn't a range worth a damn to be found here.

I joined a range out where I live now and the old fart board member sat me down and lectured me about all the rules (idiotic) rules for over an hour. They even make you unload your legal concealed carry handgun when you pull onto your premise but "if we catch you unloading it on range grounds we'll kick you out because this is a cold range" 🙄

I don't know much about the XD other than it's touted to be the Glock with a 1911 grip angle. They have a good reputation online at least.

Yep. It's $120 annual + $150 initiation. $35 less if you are a NRA member.

Then it's pretty close to the same as what it had been.

We asked a board member if they'd put together a slightly cheaper temp membership package for the med students since we're poor, and at least my class gave them a lot of business. They laughed, but we tried.

If you were brave, you could head down to 61st street and rent an XD off the indoor range east of 169, but the staff is a PIA and your typical ignorant gun peddlers, they have ******ed range rules and you have to purchase their (over priced) ammo.

If you like the 1911 grip angle you'll probably like the XD. In the .45 at least its a pretty large pistol. You need pretty large hands. I tend to like the Glock style grip angles so didn't like the XD. The Walther p99 is another nice weapon if you like that type of grip angle.

I own the Springfield XD subcompact 9mm. While I have very litte experience with other guns (only shot a 40mm Beretta (i think) once), it's a neat little handgun. Easily concealable, pretty light weight due to it's composite material, and fires nicely. Can't complain, but again, have nothing to compare it to.

Also, it has some nice safety features that it's Glock counterpart doesn't offer. It's very easy to disassemble and has some nice add-ons that you can buy like infrared sighting that clips onto the barrel really nicely.

I've had one (9mm, 5" barrel) for four years. It's extremely reliable, and the accuracy at 25yds is great. I like the grip geometry (which resembles that of a 1911) more than that of the Glock. Also, the grip safety is a nice bonus. I believe Springfield is coming out with a version with a higher capacity magazine.

Make sure you handle one before you buy.

It is an improvement over the XD. The grip feels smaller (than a Glock) and with the adjustable backstrap it is a better fit than many pistols. It shoots pretty well. The trigger stinks, but is better than the XD. It has a great capacity. It is also pricer than the XD.

It is a good gun, but the trigger is break issue for me.
