Hi I applied to a bunch of osteopathic schools (finished secondaries a month ago) and I hope to gain some interviews and acceptances soon.

In case I get accepted to a school that requires Biochem, would it be possible to squeeze in a Biochemistry class between now and first semester MS1.

One plan of attack I had was to take UC Berkeley Extension Biochem, which requires at least 3 months of enrollment to get grades, around April when I assume I'll receive whatever acceptance letter may come my way from a school that requires Biochem.

Would this work?

(as for enrolling at the local Uni, I'm not sure if I can get into the class)

First, I don't know many schools that REQUIRE biochemistry, but most STRONGLY RECOMMEND it.

Second, did you not look at the course requirements BEFORE you applied? It's kinda important.

I'm pretty sure you have to send a final transcript to the school you matriculate to showing all the required course work is complete. If the UC Berkeley Extension program will show up on your transcript, then it may be ok. I'm not completely sure though.

You should ask your premed advisor or call one of the schools and talk directly to them.

MSUCOM, KCUMB require Biochem + Genetics
DMUCOM requires Biochem

I know at MSU they will accept you without biochem or genetics but they expect you to finish the classes before you start. I had a friend who finished Biochem in the summer 1 semester right before classes started at MSUCOM. I suppose this would be the policy at the other 2 schools I mentioned, but you should check to make sure this is the case. The policy is similar to you applying to med school without a bachelor's degree complete, but making sure you have it complete before classes start.
