Has anyone who applied to St. Augustine for Fall 2013 heard back yet?

The only thing I got back from them is my certified receipt that they received my application. No emails as of yet. I even emailed them to see if they gotten my application yet, they said wait for an email back.

Well I looked back at last year's thread and most people started getting emails about interviews in the beginning of February. I've also heard that interviews will be around the 15th or so, maybe even the 22nd.

Could be wrong, I'm not 100%. It may also be my own wishful thinking, as well

I received an email last monday that USA processed my application and now its in review. The admission mentioned that when you get the email, it will take approx 2-3 weeks.

GRE: 158 Verbal, 163 Quantitative, 3.0 AW (just took it once...awfully long test)
Volunteer Hours: ~1000 outpatient, 60 inpatient
Work Experience: Athletic Physical Therapy as PT Aide (~1.5 years)

Accepted: Touro University of Nevada, Loma Linda University
Interviews: Loma Linda (12/20), Western U (2/2), University of St. Augustine (declined)

I was offered an interview at the Florida campus today. I was recently accepted into a school in my home state, so I will more than likely decline. Hopefully that will open a spot for someone else!

I got into a private school with a brand new program - Wingate University. They start in January and I will be in their first graduating class. My stats weren't the best but I believe my hours, GRE, and LOR's made up for the deficiencies in my application:
PTCAS GPA: 3.09
PTCAS PreReq: 2.90 (with retakes it's around a 3.4-3.5)
GRE: 303
Obs Hours: 450+

I'm doing my undergrad in nc and I was thinking about wingate but that $30k a year tuition just kills it for me... I like that January start date tho I feel like you get a little break to work and save up money between undegrad and pt school

Where are you doing your undergrad at? And yeah, the 30k tuition a year is rough, but it's the only school I've gotten into so far and it's close to Charlotte (where I live.) And they'll have brand new, state of the art facilities which I really like. Plus... with my stats, I don't think I'll be able to get into a state school. But we'll see!

I just had my interview at the San Marcos campus on Friday. Our student leader said there were about 100 interviewees that day, and there were 2 more smaller interview days (she didn't know how many would be interviewed for the other two days though). We were told there were around 75 admitted between OT, PT and Dual.

Interviews were by email. They call for acceptance into the program, and I believe it is an email or letter in the mail for wait list and rejections.

Ohh okay thanks! I am interviewing at the Florida campus. How did your interview go?

It went pretty well. The interview was really relaxed, and the essay portion was good as well. Make sure to have some good questions to ask after they ask you interview questions.

Expect about 100 applicants for the three programs. The essay will usually ask you about how you will meet the demands of graduate school. That was my question. Think fast, write something, and check your writing. You'll have 30 minutes I believe. I'll be here on Friday so if you have questions I can speak to you directly.

I was at the interview in FL yesterday. I was a little on the fence about the school going in, but I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. The students seemed genuine about liking the school and the area. My interview went very well. This is the 3rd one I've been on, and I have the best feeling about this one by far. My interviewer gave me lots of positive feedback during the interview, letting me know that I answered well and asked good questions. I do still have some doubts if it would be the right school for me.

I'm glad you found me and my classmates "genuine." Yes we do like the area, even those of us who come from urban areas. None of us would have volunteered to answer your questions if we didn't truly have confidence in the program. I wish you luck.

Oh you're a current student? Would you mind sharing how you feel about a couple of things? I actually woke up feeling extremely sick the other day and without much of a voice, so I didn't get to ask a few things during the Q & A.

When comparing the USA curriculum to other DPT programs, I noticed that you guys take a little less gross anatomy. Do you feel like that has impacted your understanding at all, or do you feel like what you took was sufficient?

They said in the beginning that it is too hard to match the students with their choice of field experience. Does that mean you don't get any say at all?

Since the class sizes are larger than at other schools, do you feel like you are close to your own cohort and how much do you interact with other cohorts?

I said you guys all seemed genuine because at my other interviews the students seemed to be answering these questions based on what they thought sounded good, not necessarily because it was the truth. I didn't get that feeling from you. As a current undergrad at UCF, I would actually welcome being in a less urban setting. St. Augustine reminds me very much of my home town, which is small and beachside.

I had an interview at the San Marcos Campus, and I didn't need to bring anything. I brought a pen and a list of questions I wanted to ask so I could read them over before my interview, but other than that, nothing. Good luck!
