I bet your friend will love no USMLE, and no residency either :meanie: j/k. Just give her the license, right? Why bother with all this superficial crap?:meanie: j/k. But that was exactly my thinking when ROSS and SABA still didn't require MCAT, and I fell for it. So you are not alone 😀

Anyway, as far as I know SJSM does not require MCAT, and probably won't for a long time to come.
Hope it helps.

All I know is that SJSOM is a relatively new school (established in 2000?) and only a hand full of graduates matched into residencies in 2005 or 2006? (per Value MD - SJSOM forum). Though it could be that not everyone has reported their match results. I don't know. My very close friend is also applying to this school for Spring 2007. One more thing, I think this school does not have CA, TX, and NY approval yet. So, if you are planning to eventually end up practicing in one of these states, you might want to take this into consideration. Try Value MD site, they have the school forum there.

Hi I'm a MD 4 at the school about to Graduate from Basic Sci here into clinicals

I have been satisfied with the school.

100% green book clinicals

the other poster is right about California but you can be Licensed in TX, NY and FL

there are about 20 residents now with about 30 going into the match this year.

1 to 2 going for Licensure (school started in 2001)

The school has had 2 visits by the ACCM for accreditation and I have been a part of it as a student SGA member, they have approved the school for Accreditation I think there is a final visit now before it is official granted then NY will follow so students can do 2 years of clinicals there instead of just 12 weeks (They can be Licensed there now) :luck:

Hope is not in Poland; it's in America. They set up your clinicals and get you accepted into a Polish school.

They charge a large amount of money for practically no help, seems to be the consensus. However, some people say the price is justified because they've gotten their US clinicals due to it.

It's been done before, so if you want to live in Poland for a few years, go to Poland. If you want to be out of the Caribbean in less than 2 years, have all green rotations, then go to St Jame's.

Either way, you can't practice in California and I suppose states that follow there guidelines.

Polish schools don't acre about MCATs, so that's not surprising.

As for no Orgo II, that could be bad. If she got into the 4 year program with 1 semester of Organic Chemistry, she may have problems getting licensed as a doctor in the US when she graduates. Supposedly most states require you have 1 year each of Chem/Bio/Orgo/Physics.

So either she will have problems, or she got into the 6-year program, in which case she will be taking medicinal chemistry and plenty of other basic pre-req classes all over again essentially.

Yeah Hope has some decent schools too, but they are not California approved for the English programs I have no idea why?
