Just wondering if anyone is going to WSOP this Fall 2009. I was accepted and I am going....come join my celebration party and write to me please😀

Ok...where is everyone...I want to talk to people that will be in my class🙁 I guess I am just extra excited! Is anybody else out there?????????? I am a bit pathetic replying to my own thread🙁
 
haha it looks like I will be going there too this fall. I'll be submitting my deposit soon, but I'm still really really hoping for UB.

But congrats on your acceptance and we might be classmates this fall!!

What was your wait time after the interview before you found out you were accepted?
 
Hey guys i just got a call today for an interview! I scheduled it for the 3/11! I've never been to NY so im super duper excited!

Anyone got tips for the interview? How is the school? Any ideas on tuition costs? I didnt see a interview feedback for them so i was just wondering what everyone else thinks.... Any advice is appreciated! 😀

OH and congratulations to everyone already accepted!!!

got a call for an interview today!! 2/25 @ 8:30!!!! 😀

I know you guys can't talk about the interview details, but should we be worried and stressed or is it not so bad??

ah, congratulations!! The interview's really not too bad. I'm not sure how much we're "allowed" to say..but it wasn't bad at all. We had 3 back to back interviews..I think how easy it is depends on your interviewers. One of mine was kinda tough, but I guess I did ok 🙂
Anyways..best of luck to you!!
 
I probably was one of the last ones to send my supplemental. Not sure if they'll give me an interview, but if they do I'llbe very excited.

I sent my stuff in wayyyyy back in September and they never got back to me about it. When I had emailed them they told me to wait until after the new year and now there ya have it! They finally called me yesterday.

Don't worry, they said that they are reviewing a lot of applications and there are a lot of dates available to interview on. So just be patient.... good luck to you! 🙂

Thanks! I'm pretty excited! Still no word from UB for me, I'm still sitting on the wait list since Dec. 1st.
Have you heard any rumors or info floating around about UB this year? I haven't heard anything really. I know they just started interviewing this month... Hopefully we'll hear something before we start sending in big deposits to other schools. :xf:

The only thing I've heard was that this year is more competitive than ever.."insanely" competitive as Jennifer Hess put it. I do know that the waitlist is only 18 people long..which is encouraging. We'll see..I actually sent in my deposit for St. John Fisher today...$1500. It's quite a hefty deposit 🙂 Good luck on your interview!!
 
I received the acceptance letter from fisher and i will see u guys there in August 17. Do you know anything about the cost the apartment near to the school?

WHOA only 18 people! that's it?!?! I can't believe that! wow, thats pretty good odds for us then! :xf:
 
I am glad to hear people are going to SJF! I thought I was the only one for a while. I sent in my deposit too. So it is certain!!! I applied to UB last year, and although it is a great school I am glad I did not get accepted there. I think it is a survival of the fitest school...no help for anyone, the staff just wants to research and get published. 😡 However, it is inexpensive.😱

Hi Everyone! I just joined the site today too. I've got my interview on the 24th. I'm really excited about this, but I'm a little nervous because I haven't had my first interview yet. Anyone got any helpful pointers?

You'll have three one-on-one interviews. Unfortunately we're not allowed to disclose too much information, so that's why there is no feedback on the interview feedback area of the site (we had to sign a confidentiality agreement).
The interviews are really simple for the most part. My first interviewer kind of grilled me, firing questions one right after the other, and I didn't really feel that I did well with him. (Funny story: He asked me something about my personality, or how I deal with stressful situations, and I answered -- I'm easy! Meaning, of course, easy to get a long with -- but I was mortified nevertheless. I felt like I bombed it, lol)
The other 2 interviewers hardly asked me any questions. We talked about their research (I have a lot of research experience)..just find some common ground with them. Look around their office and bring up something interesting you see, I find they like to talk about themselves 🙂

I have a 3 bedroom apt about 6 miles from Fisher and its about $1200 a month but its in Fairport so electric is cheap ($40 a month) and cable is included.

I had a similar experience. The best bit of advice I can give you is relax and be yourself. Just answer their quesions honestly - don't try to say what you think they want to hear. Everyone is very easy to talk to and not intimidating at all. Good luck!!

recently got accepted in WSOP. Still in the process of making a decision in the next week here. I interviewed at Pitt and UB and still waiting to hear back but think I have a good chance. I guess the worst thing that happens is I lose 1500 dollars. Most likely I will be seeing people in the Fall at WSOP though. Anybody know if they have a hockey team there?
 
I have an interview on th 1st!

I hope I can say I am in the class of 2013 after next week.

How long before they let you know you are accepted?

Could take as little as two weeks, could take a few months. Carla told me that they do try to make a decision as quickly as possible, though.

To answer the OP's question, I'm going to SJF-WSOP in the fall, as well. 🙂
 
Quick question for you guys. Did you get your acceptance via email, mail letter or phone call?

Mine came in via snail mail, I believe a few other people on this forum have also mentioned theirs coming in the same way.

Yep. Thank you! I actually just got my acceptance letter today when I got home from work.😀

Now gotta decide where I want to go...
 
Hooray! I got accepted to SJF!! =)

I had a very good impression of the school when I visited, but I also noticed the lack of diversity. Anyone who got accepted and is NOT WHITE, please holler... I want to know that if I choose SJF, I won't be the only minority.

yeah, really relaxed. three back to back one-on-one interviews.

You'll be fine.

PS - you have a pretty sick GPA

Excited to meet you all....i live in Texas, will be moving in August...so wanted to ask if anyone had ideas about apartments close by....i wish we cud live on campus !!
