HI! I was wondering if anyone had any information about the OB/GYN residency at St. John's Episcopal (Far Rockaway) and what their impression was of it/ teaching/volume/ resident interaction? Thanks!!

Great Question!

I interviewed at St. John's. The interview started at 10am and the only thing scheduled was one, 30 minute interview with the program director. There were three of us, so this took an hour and a half. After that, approx 12, one of the residents happened to be near the GME office and decided to take us around the hospital. He then decided to buy us lunch.

Hospital: Old
Residents: are part of a union (that's unique....)
Salary: 65k (but it is in New York)
Food budget: $25/ month
When asked if there would be an issue with ACGME/AOA merger- Response: Older well established program that takes 3 residents per year. (This was reassuring)
Hospital in Finacial trouble?:http://www.timesledger.com/stories/2013/34/stjohnsprobs_tl_2013_08_23_q.html
St. John's Episcopal staffers call for CEO's exit- http://www.crainsnewyork.com/articl...t-johns-episcopal-staffers-call-for-ceos-exit

Summary: I am debating if I should rank them....
