St Johns doesnt look at your SAT scores and GPA only. They have this complex formula in which they average in other priorities such as your regeants grade (if you have a 65 in biology but got a 95 on your regeants, it helps you out a lot and vice versa if you did bad on your regeants). If you are very borderline of the equation, i would believe they would also factor in other stuff to decide on your acceptance or not such as extracurricular activities and recommendations.
