Can I resurrect this thread? I am looking into standing desks. Will likely go with a "add on" version (meaning it would just sit on my existing desk) or a DIY version with ikea parts because dropping $500-$1,000+ is not in the books for me.
I was just saying today how i really want a treadmill desk

Am I the only one who doesn't have the coordination to do this sort of thing heh. I can barely walk and take a drink from a glass at the same time heh
Calves game probably strong AF now. Are you rocking shorts all summer?![]()
Bought this last summer (10 1/2 months ago).
I've logged thousands of miles on it while on studying. (I've probably walked an equivalent distance well over the mileage between New York City and San Francisco).
I too wish I had a couple grand to blow. It honestly sounds like something that'd be worth it, just like a good bed, good shoes, et al things you spend >33% of your life with.Bought this last summer (10 1/2 months ago).

Its a very ergonomic design (at least the lifespan desks). My back has never hurt from this thing. As for coordination, it isn't a problem either. Not for clicking, reading, or even typing an essay. Maybe it would be somewhat difficult to be a pro Call of Duty player while walking on it, but for clicking around on the internet there is absolutely no issue. Same with typing.Am I the only one who doesn't have the coordination to do this sort of thing heh. I can barely walk and take a drink from a glass at the same time heh
I can walk on this for 5-8 hours per day depending on how much I am home (not much right now, gg hospital) but I couldn't just stand still for hours. I'd end up leaning over, slouching, etc. Trust me, I even stop the treadmill, get off, and then come back to my comp for what I think will be a 1 minute email check where I stand here for 20 minutes engrossed in something on my computer. By the end of 20 minutes, I am already leaning on one leg and supporting my weight on the desk like a lazy slob. It happens unconsciously pretty much.Lol idk if I would like the treadmill but a standing desk seems like it would feel naturally to me and help a lot with my upper back/shoulder/neck issues (separated my AC joint in 2009 and have had 5 subsequent dislocations so my entire shoulder girdle is screwed which then affects my neck, spinal erector on that side, real and subscap area on that side. It's horrible lol

exactly, and when you study for 5-6+ hours per day might as well not sit on yo fat ass dat whole time. Sitting for extended periods of time is terribad for you. Also another benefit is that I burn a stupid amount of calories (sometimes ~2,000) just walking 1.6-2.o miles per hour over the course of a single study day. I don't run at all. I don't even jog. In fact I walk so slow on this thing that I get irritated at the hospital when n00bs walk next to me cause they be moving so much faster. But whatever, it's all about that Swagger & Substance.
