I matched into a subspecialty at Stanford and wanted to know what y'all thought about Stanford's general surgery program. I'd especially like to hear from anyone who's interviewed there or goes to med school there. Thank you!!

I interviewed at stanford last week and was extremely impressed. All the residents were normal (which can never be underestimated) and happy. Each resident was someone I could having a beer with. In addition it seemed like a very resident-friendly program with a very nice and personable chair. I'm not sure how much operating interns do, but the rumors are that they don't do much. Over all I was very impressed with the program and think it'll be a very tolerable, if not enjoyable prelim year.

Thanks for replying. I appreciate your feedback. It's good to hear that everyone is happy, that says a lot about the way they approach resident education. I was also wondering what the call was like there? I didn't really get a good sense of that during my interview.
