Hi all,
Quick question: looking at the Stanford psych residency page, they require:
  1. Four (4) letters of recommendation.
    1. From faculty members who have worked with you in clinical settings and know you well.
    2. At least one (1) letter of rec from a psychiatry clinical setting; and
    3. One (1) letter of rec from a primary care specialty (internal medicine, pediatrics, family medicine, or ob-gyn) clinical setting.

I'm an MD-PhD student who intends to apply into the research track. I figure one of my letters should be from my thesis mentor, but I didn't work with them in a "clinical setting". Does that mean I should actually be doing 5 letters, 4 clinical + PhD mentor? Or should this mentor be one of the 4?
Thanks!

If you're worried about this you can reach out to them to ask. But of course they will want a letter from your PhD mentor. ERAS only allows 4 letters -- so you can't submit a 5th. So, yes, submit this letter as one of the four.
