Has anyone been rejected at Stanford yet? Do they send all the rejections out in Spring?

I've been complete for almost 4 months and haven't heard anything.

Members don't see this ad.

Some people have, but I think it was because they contacted them to say they'd be in the area.

Note to self: do not contact stanford saying I'll be in the area.
Seriously, I have not been rejected or invited for an interview yet. So we'll see.

yeah, I was wondering...I haven't heard anything either!! is this normal for Stanford to not tell you anything??

Haha, you mean asking for an interview was an automatic ding? Wouldn't the committee still send the usual letter?

No, it's probably more like, the person was coming from the east coast to the west coast for an interview so the committee basically accelerated their decision making process for that person and made the decision immediately instead of with the normal timing. It's the same decision they would have made anyways, the person just knows sooner.

Yeah, I have family nearby and told them when I'd be on the west coast. The dean apparently reviewed my file and [presumably] threw it in the trash can (after shredding it). Seriously though, they sent me a kind email telling me no dice. Then they sent me another copy of the email about ten minutes later.

So, if I contacted them to say that I'll be in the area and did not hear anything, am I to presume that they are still considering me??

My lab PI, who is an interviewer for Stanford, told me a few days ago that Stanford is "really behind". =/ I've also been complete for nearly 4 months with no news.

I just received a post-secondary rejection from Stanford (I'm in New York City), dated 1/14/2008. I was complete on 8/28/08 and didn't contact the admissions office to try to schedule an interview.

Got the axe today. By mail, dated the 14th.

Stanford is arguably the hardest med school to gain admission to. Their class size is too small while their reputation is too big.

It seems like Stanford sent out rejections in a batch...my friend got the rejection yesterday too.

Hmm... I've been complete for 4-4.5 months and haven't heard a peep either. Grrr...

Have the rejections that were received yesterday been post-secondary, post-interview, or both?

For the people who received post secondary rejections yesterday, when were you complete at Stanford?

Is it safe to assume that if we didnt get rejections from the first batch of rejection letters we can still have some hope?

Got the post-secondary rejection letter today, too. Was complete October 16th. Sixth rejection in the past two weeks! 😱

My hats off to those of you who somehow got interviews to schools like Stanford.

I just wish the other 9 schools I haven't heard from yet would tell me something.

I was complete in September... I hope the rejection letters not coming! Maybe I still have some hope!

I think they sent out a whole bunch of invitations in ealy December, so they're still getting through those applicants.

got the post-secondary rejection letter late last week. i was complete in mid september.

Spoiler alert:

They have what they believe will be disappointing news for me.

Got mine today, regular mail.

does anyone know if Stanford accepts letter of interests pre-interview? because i've heard some schools discourage it?

Do you think it's worth it to send one in now? or maybe my letter of rej. is on its way but got lost in the mail. 🙁

This process is too long too frustrating too daunting

They do not allow pre-interview correspondences.

thanks 🙂 good to know

i just saw it on their website too.
"Our policy with regard to application updates is that additional information may be accepted only AFTER an applicant has been invited to interview."

I have been complete for a long time, and have not heard anything yet. I am pretty sure I will be rejected though.
UCI also sent me a nice email saying that I am not selected for an interview at this point.
