Has anyone not been able fit their chemistry classes into the online secondary? There are only six spaces for chemistry and that includes general and organic, lectures and labs. Am I missing something? Thanks 🙂

Just include your pre-med required courses, then add whatever else you want until the space is filled. Or don't. I don't think it actually matters, as long as you have the pre-med reqs listed.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply 🙂

My problem is that there is no room to list the required classes. I only have room to list the general chem classes they require and then there is no room left for the o-chem. I must be missing something... Did you do this application?

I did. So let me see if I understand you. (I'm going to make a lot of assumptions here.) You don't have room to list even the basic pre-med requirements because you have to list three quarters worth of gchem lecture, three quarters of ochem lecture, and then the different labs, which are separate courses. If that's the case, or something like that, then I'm not really sure what to say. Can you maybe just combine the separate courses into one course? Like, if your gchem is split into Chem 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3, maybe you could just list it in one slot as Chem 1.1-3?

Alternatively, you could just call up the admissions office and ask... 😉

Hi 🙂 Thanks for writing back again.

Yes, you understood correctly. It says to list labs separately if separate course number and to break courses down into semester/quarter units. That means for chem I have 3 g-chem lectures, 3 g-chem labs, 3 o-chem lectures and 2 o-chem labs. That's 11 classes and they only have 6 spaces. I am going to call the admissions office in the morning but I just wanted to check here in case I was missing something very obvious. It wouldn't be the first time 😉

Thanks for your help, have a nice night. 🙂

bump...

I called the admissions office but was put through to voice mail. Of course I left this to the last minute...the application is due today. Did anyone else call them about this problem?

I too just called admissions office to see if I was even getting a secondary and the lady stated that a large mailing went out, and they are also emailing (i'm already forgetting what she said, blah).
The point was that the secondary can't be due now unless they are sending out ONLY rejection letters which didn't seem to be the case (from the little I actually remember) 😉

I believe the final deadline is Dec 15 or something like that. The email and letter (they send both) requesting the secondary asks that it be returned within 2 weeks.

Good luck 🙂

As I recall, I had the same problem. I think I just included labs with the lectures and left it at that. If they don't leave enough spaces, then let them figure it out.

Ai:

I had the same question back when I was filling it out. What I did was borrow some lines from the Physics spaces. For example, I wrote in my 3 g-chem and 3 o-chem lectures under the chem section. under the physics section on the first space I wrote: "Chem continued", I then used the next two spaces to include my o-chem labs and then had the remaining three spots for the physics. It's not the best way, but about the only way I could fit all the coursework.
