does stanford display whether or not you get an interview on their status check?

dukegirlie, does your status page say that your file is complete? Mine does not show that my file is complete, even though my supplemental app, payment, and recommendation have been received. I'm wondering what may be missing.

It took about 3 weeks after my recommendation forms were submitted before the status check showed that my application was complete. Still says nothing though about an interview. 🙁

my letters were in on 11/8 and my file complete on 11/15. the status check displayed this as soon as it was updated following my submissions. i am still waiting on news of an interview though. **fingers crossed**

Yeah my file was complete on 11/5 and I too have not heard anything. And like Dukegirlie, I am keeping my fingers crossed too!

So does anybody know how they invite you for an interview? Via e-mail or snail?

i am quite sure that they correspond everything through snail-mail. they just sent out secondaries via email after they realized how far behind they were, but i am pretty sure they said that everything from then on would be via post office.

i was also complete on 11/5 and haven't heard anything yet__ 4 weeks to the day!
oh well, i know that they send out rejections as soon as they decide not to interview (a few of my very qualified and completed friends already got 'em).
hope they send me a decision either way soon.

-good luck GC16 and make sure you post as soon as you hear anything (given that we have the same priority date, we should hear around the same time).

Actually, the secondary notification has been through email this entire year. I don't know about interview invites, but I would guess those are also by email as the admissions office is basically doing everything electronically (they're trying to avoid using paper if they can help it).

I just found out that my file is not complete because they're still waiting on another letter of recommendation. The thing is, they've already received a letter from my premed committee chairman. Did everyone else have to send three or more letters? This is a first for me. My premed committee letter has always been sufficient.

I know, but any really updates are going to have to come from posters, since Stanford doesn't indicate interview status on their website.

Hoping to glean what date they are up to in their review.

hopefully this will help:

Application complete: 11/5
Interview (via snail mail): 11/26.

I think that is pretty fast, and it entirely depends on who on the committee is given your file. Even in other years Stanford has been one of the slowest schools, and they've interviewed all the way till April!

Am I the only one having trouble getting one of those "advisors" on the damn phone? I keep leaving messages but get no reply... someone mentioned that they just don't respond to voicemail... anyone have any other ideas of how to get in touch with them?

I emailed Patricia, and asked her to give me a call back. She did, about a half hour later. She was very helpful, actually.

That would be my recomendation. I think they must be on the phone most of the time, so voicemail probably isn't the way to go.

They almost never update when they're supposed to! I suspect it'll probably be updated tonight or tommorow night. They usually do it on weeknights...

(Wow... I think I've checked that site too many times if I know when they update... 🙂 )

So do people actually have a status check page that lists all of their recommenders on it? I got the EM that file was complete, but I guess I don't know what that means. They fooled me w/the "we look forward to reviewing your application" bit, I thought that meant they had all of my letters and everything was ready to roll, but apparently not. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
