And to make this thread pharmacy related, did you ever wonder how those injections administered around the neck region without a skin puncture worked? It seems like transdermal delivery..but seems to take effect so rapidly.

But more importantly...who wins the war between the Empire and the Star Trek beings?

I was interested in the topic myself, so I did a little research while ago.

Sifting through all the materials, and trying my hardest to get through the bias that each fanbase provides (I'm a Star Trek fan BTW), I think the issue is best depicted in this YouTube video:

Basically, I believe Galaxy-class starships can hold their own against the larger Imperial battle cruisers, but both fanbases agree that the Death Star would be tough to beat as its weapon is the more powerful than anything else. Also, the Empire had a higher number of troops at its peak while the Star Trek beings would have to collaborate.

Based on the Wikipedia entry on the matter (some people just have too much time on their hands) HERE , Star Wars is given the advantage mainly based on a book by physicist Dr. Curtis Saxton who estimated the power of weaponry of Star Wars vessels to be far greater than any Star Trek vessel provided. I guess the homerism in me disputes this book given that LucasFilm hired the man and Saxton acknowledged many "Warsies" in his book. Can you say slanted?

Personally, I wouldn't mind if the Empire would wipe the Alpha Quadrant off the face of the universe; Star Wars and Star Trek are two entirely different franchises that has different aims and tastes.

why would you want the Alpha Quadrant wiped off the Universe? After all, Alpha quadrant gave birth to T-Pol, Seven of Nine, and Jadzia Dax...

I do agree that the weaponery featured in Star Wars vessels are more powerful than the Star Trek's. However, Star Trek provides an X-factor. Q

And the borg can assimilate the Empire Fleet..

I think Species 8472 would be a tough one for the Empire too. Their ships can blow up planets too.

To me, the Force isn't much more than a glorified telekinetical ability. It's an impressive one that controls a lot of things, but you're right, Q does A LOT more and there are too many Qs for the Empire to handle.

Q+8472+Borg+Picard+Kirk as the leaders of the Star Trek "side" would be a formidable one.

Plus, I didn't say that I wanted the Alpha Quadrant guys to lose, I just said that it wouldn't bother me as it doesn't make Star Trek less enjoyable either way.😉

Ahhh..the species 8472.

That's right...the Q continuum contains many Q. I liked Olivia D'Abo as a child Q.

And as a Trekkie..I say the Evil Empire and the "Force" are no match for the Federation and its' enemies and allies.

You guys are nerds! Explains why when I walked into the wrong convention hall last year (supposed to be ASHP and it was some sort of Treky thing going on), it took me a few minutes to realize I was in the wrong place! Just kidding...sort of...

But anyways...maybe they were already using Bioject technology

wooo...maybe they are using the bioject... but once deposited under the dermal layer...I wonder how it distributes so quickly... :meanie:

I don't remember seeing a Trekkie convention in Anaheim last year... otherwise I would have went in and bought a phaser to to shoot at Dana Carvey..who made fun of those 2 girls from South Carolina.

You are an idiot! (no not really, just testing previous claims to TOS vioaltions in aforementioned post describing massive margarita intake due to weekly deflated prices ($2), and insuing intoxication henceforth(bananaface I will smacketh the booty down!))

That is all.

what could Worf do with a lightsaber!

I think the Klingons would modify their bat'leths to have blades like lightsabers.

...and to think that Warsies were probably pissing their pants when they saw that double-bladed lightsaber used by Darth Maul.😀

With the improved cloaking technology of the Federation (even though not able to use it due to a treaty signed with the Romularns) the starships can actually go through a matter like a meteor while cloaked.. RIP USS Pegasus.

Hence, Federation can arm the Klingon, Romulan warbirds and Cardassian Marauders with these devices...then load as many photon torpedoes and triphasic weapons...and have the ships run by the Jimhadars (sp) to attack the Empire. And when all else fails...Q or Wesley Crusher who is now a 'Traveler' can freeze time ...to throw down a massive attack against the Star Wars fighters.

how would it be a TOS violation...when you call an idiot an idiot. Sounds like to me a fair assessment and an accurate name calling to me.. :meanie:

I'll add my incredibly devalued 2 cents to this thread.

William Shatner was the best Capt. Kirk, but...Star Wars > Star Trek.

There are so many more cool looking creatures in Star Wars compared to Star Trek, and, most of the characters on Star Trek were pretty ugly to look at. I did like Data and McCoy from Star Trek, though.

How dare you... there are way more beautiful females on Star Trek vs Star Wars...

Star Wars was set in the distant past in another galaxy. Star Trek took place in the future of this galaxy. Assuming that the civilization in the Star Wars universe survivied, they'd probably be way beyond the Milky Way galaxy by our 24th century, technologically speaking.

I can not connect the two although I love both.

How do we know Star Wars was set in the distant past? I do believe in Star Trek, they have traveled beyond the Milky Way..

Was Star Wars the first one and Star Trek the sequel? I think I liked the first one better. It's the one where Natasha Henstridge is naked half of the movie and Mr. Blonde from Reservoir Dogs is running around trying to kill her, right?

Transformers: DLP>stadium seating>on me lappy

but lappy is better than no transformers at all

That's a big assumption given the constant battling of the region. Still, we can compare based off of what we see in the show as opposed to what may be.😉

"A long time ago... In a galaxy far, far away...."

STAR WARS

It's at the beginning of every movie.

Lol...not sure...although I generally lean in that direction. Just haven't been drawn in by one in particular.

Seems like C-ject has though. 🙄

Republican party just does not have anyone strong at this time.. but since the last actor/politician did a fairly good job, I say what the heck.. vote for the actor. He can fake it through.

You know a thing or two about Arkansas...what's Hucklebee's deal?

He once lived in a triplewide while governor's mansion was being renovated. He was big as a hog... but lost a lot of weight. My ex neighbor the state trooper was his personal guard.. hated the "F*cker" he used to say....arrogant SOB.. and used to had to take his wife grocery shopping where they spent gazillion dollars on personal food.

That being said, he's a good cosersative ex preacher turned politician who probably has the right answers to all the issues you bring up. But is he a president material? Not with a name like Huckabee... Can we clone Ronnie Reagan?

Ronnie is a flaming liberal... are you sure you want Ronnie?

"President Huckabee" has a nice ring to it....kinda like "President Brownback"

Hyposprays are cool!

I also like the idea of dispensing nanoprobes too!

Sorry, I have nothing to contribute regarding the upcoming presidential race.😀
