Start 2014 App while waitlisted?

Currently waitlisted and would like to know If I go ahead and submit my app for 2012 and I apply to the same school I'm waitlisted at will this hurt my chances of getting off the list?

This late in the game, any movement on the WL will be slow. I'd go ahead and prep the next application. But yes, call the school first and see what they say about current WL movement and their suggestions.
