I really want to get my application for this sept 2012 cycle out asap because I feel like I am an underdog and need to apply as early as possible. I was wondering if it is possible to look through/start filling out BUT not submit the application any time before June 1st, or if I just have to have everything ready on my own end and start inputting on the 1st.

You can usually access/submit it May 15. June 1st is when they start working on the applications or something along those lines. I think i may have a copy of last years application that i saved if you want it pm me.

You can look through last years application, but from my recollection you cannot access the new AADSAS form for the upcoming cycle until June 1st. This year's application should be similar (if not exactly the same) as last year.

Go ahead and fill out the old application, print it, and use it to fill in this year's application. Of course you wouldn't submit the old application, in fact, I think AADSAS closed submission of last year's applications a couple months ago. Keep in mind, if you work off the old AADSAS application, it will be deleted come June 1st.

wait... what? Are you talking about AADSAS or the TX system?

If TX, yeh their system opens sometime in May. If AADSAS, no, you can't do anything until early June. For us this past cycle, AADSAS opened on June 3rd..... This year its June 1st I think.

To OP ~ there are few things you can get ready before the cycle opens up:
-Get all your LOR / writers in order
-Finish the PS and have it ready for copy/paste
-Have access to all your official college transcripts (either paper copy or online)... You need to have this because you will be required to key in your course name and number EXACTLY THE WAY IT APPEARS on your college transcripts to AADSAS.

Other than that... there is nothing else you can do

do you guys know if you have to supply aadsas with official transcripts. or as you mentioned earlier just have to plug in the course numbers and description on the applciation service

I'm pretty sure that they provide you with an address to send your official transcript from the school you are currently attending or attended. I'm unsure if they have streamlined this process by doing it online or whatnot. Hope this helps or someone could elaborate on this.

yes of course you have to. But you can't do that until AADSAS opens up because you need to get a transcript-matching form to go along with the transcript(s)

They may have changed it last year (i didnt submit my application until mid June) but the first year I applied I had my entire application done and submitted by May 15 to AADSAS. The offical cycle wasnt open until June 1, but I had everything in and submitted then. All I was waiting for after that was LORs and Official transcript.

for the transcript, do i attach it to the application?
after typing in the grades

how do u send or attach the transcript to the app?

Even if you can't start filling it out there are definitely things you can work on.
#1 get your personal statement ironed out.
#2 Look at the specific schools you're going to apply to. Many have their own essay questions that you could begin working on.

You manually go through and enter all your courses and grades EXACTLY as it says on your trascript from all schools attended.

Then you get a trascript request form off your application (on AADSAS app) and fill that out and have it sent in with an OFFICAL college trascript to AADSAS.

AADSAS then veriflies that your official trascript matches EXACTLY what you manually enter on your app.

Basically they make you do all the work and they check it. However you MUST do both of these actions to complete your application.

After they verify all your courses they then calculate your overall GPA, sci GPA, and BCP gpa.

Hope this clears everything up.

Hey.. To answer your question NO.. Its imposible to start working on your application until June 1st.. You might even have to wait until June 2nd.. I am a re-applicant.. Last year, I took the day off from work just to start my application but unfortunately the site was not ready and had to wait until the next day. You can Not even send your transcripts or recomendation letters until you open your application because on every correspondense or email ( you need to have Your ADADEA number that identifies you)... Haha...I Will be in front of my screen once again starting May 31ths after midnight waiting, waiting lol.. I know many of us will be doing the same thing.. Make sure you have your own copy of your transcript because you have to manually enter every single class/grade/semester. You may want to have your essay ready...It's a lot of work but the whole process is fun and you will get very impatient
Good Luck to all those that will apply on next cycle

you can submit your trancsript and LOR after you e-submit your application right? last cycle i waited until everything showed up on the application before e-submitting it which wasted some time.

Yup. Submit your app right away, no need to wait for LORs or transcipts.
