I will be starting my PsyD next fall and will be 30 (ack!) at that point. I would really like to start having kids in the next couple years. I have no doubt it will be a ton of work, and I am lucky enough to have great family and support available.
I would love to get some suggestions/advice from anyone who might be or have been in a similar situation. Advice from anyone who has had a baby during school?

Thanks for the link - I hadn't seen that thread in my search...

What I'm hearing here (and it obviously will vary by school) is that generally after second or third year is the best time. I have no plans to have kids (possibly not ever, definitely not in grad school) so take what I say with a grain of salt but just thought I'd pass it on.

Basically, you'll still be just as busy then, but your hours are more "your own", meaning you get to set your schedule more, as opposed to when you're taking more classes and HAVE to be on campus certain hours, making it slightly more conducive to being a parent since you have more flexibility to try and coordinate things with your partner.
