Hey what's up, i just realized that i have all this free time & i dont wanta waste it all sitting in my underwear in front of the tv, w/ a phillie in one hand and a beer in the other. so i've been planning out all these activities but dont know when i'm supposed to report for my prelim year residency? anybody have any idea? also, i'm gonna move between my prelim yr & my anesthesia and wanted to know if you usualy get some time (more than a weekend) to do that or if you have to use up your vacation time. i sure hope it's not that.
anyway, i hope you guys aren't too stressed about match. i've more or less forgotten about it cause i'll be happy at my top 3 and i figure there's nothing i can do about it now so no reason to freak out like i had been all of feb.
anyway, good luck too all & will somebody tell me when prelims start?

I always thought it was anywhere between mid-june and july 1st (depending on the individual program). Someone correct me if i'm wrong, cause i'd like to know too. (i guess we'll find out soon though anyway)

I think most programs start either the week of July 1 or the week before. Programs that start the week before do so in order to give a week off at the end of the year for people to move if they need to at the conclusion of their prelim. Also remember that many programs will want you to report 1-2 weeks before the official start date for orientation and ACLS training.
