Starting deferments during pre-matriculation programs?

Hey guys, so I'm more than likely going to be participating in a pre-entry program at the school I was accepted to, and was wondering if anyone knew whether most lenders will allow you to start deferments during these programs. It's only a month early, but I'm really going to need every dollar I can get my hands on for the move out there and everything, so I was hoping to start deferments in July rather than August. I've been fighting with the people on the phone as the only information they seem to give is: "as long as you are enrolled more than half-time you can deffer your loans." Of course the program takes up full time hours as we are specifically told not to have employment, classes or any other major commitments during it. Any know anything about this?
