I am planning to go into family medicine residency, my main selection goal is the best clinical skills training available. I don't have a preference for opposed versus unopposed as long as I come out of the program knowing my stuff. I have heard good things about the Ventura family medicine residency program any other suggestions? Thanks

I presume you're applying for next year? Your criteria of "excelent clinical skills training" is a bit generic, but that's OK. You'll learn a lot from the whole match process. The important things that I have learned from my interviews this year are:
1. How much hand holding versus being pushed out of the nest the program has and how they balance it.
2. How much specialty/elective training there is (chance for procedures, psychiatry, advocacy, etc)
3. The people. A big part of any residency is liking the people at the program.
4. The population. Do you want rural? Suburb? Innercity? What languages do you speak, what languages does the population speak?
Of course I'm partial to my home institution and the 4 family med programs we have, so I'd say definately look at New Mexico next year.
