Starting to freak a bit. It just hit me that this Friday could potentially end years of worrying, wondering, planning, and asking stupid "DDS vs DMD" questions on SDN (yeah, I'm pretty sure I asked one of those back in the day when I first registered). I think I'm mostly worried that I won't hear anything on Friday after all this build-up and that I'll have to keep waiting and worrying.

Have you guys thought about what you might be feeling this time next week knowing that the next four years of your life may have been decided for you, essentially out of your control?

It's funny, i should be feeling like that, but I don't think it's really hit me yet. Luckily (or unluckily) i have so much crap for school this week, that it'll be friday in no time. I have a feeling that i'll be waiting to hear from my top 2 schools until monday anyway, i just think the letters will be stuck in the mail, why is Dec 1st on a friday, good part is if it's good news, then can get drunk immediately. Sucks for ppl next year when Dec 1st is a saturday

I've been feelin it for the whole month of november so far, haha. Actually, I've been feelin it for like 2 years since i first applied. And this website is making me feel it even more... on that note, g'nite!

I think, if the past repeats itself, I should be receiving an early morning phone call from a little office in a big (windowless) building on Archer Rd. If not it doesn't bode well for me.

It's going to be a long week... dmonee, I do not envy you! Having to go through this AGAIN must be that much more nerve-wracking...

does anyone know if they're sent to your current or perrmanent address? Because permanent=parents house, current= my apartment at school. i'm assuming its sent to the current address, but a lot of the initial forms were sent to my parents house...anyone know?

I'm more worried about getting into my top choice, not necessarily dental school, but i'll still be upset about any rejection (even a school i didn't like) simply b/c that means i fucxed up somewhere either in my app or interview

I agree with that. There is a long, sharp drop from my number 1 to my number 2. I'll be happy with number 10! but number 1 would be so huge...

i would love to be in some of your shoes with several interviews. i've been pissing my panties.. ahem boxers.. for almost a month now since i received an invite to ONE school. just imagine what you're going through times 2, 3, 4, maybe even 100000. that's me.

I have loved pretty much all of the schools I've visited. There really isn't a huge decline in my preference for the "lower" ranked ones.

Also guys, December 1st is not the day to freak out. Not every school will be notifying people on that day, so don't start posting panicked threads on Friday afternoon just because you haven't heard anything yet.

I will be trying to stay away from SDN on 12/1, but I will be so mad if I come back and see n00ber threads about how you think you're not getting in just because you didn't hear something on the first day possible.

same. i'd definitely get annoyed of threads started about being freaked out. it doesn't help with my anxiety. i'd never start one, but i think i'd definitely contribute to the thread if i hear some bad news from my one school.

yeah i'm freaking out too...i've had some interviews but i know for a FACT that i was definitely the low man academically...so i've like, automatically thrown myself in the rejection pile b/c it seems to me that its all about the numbers these days...you dont have to be a fantastic people person to get in...you just have to have great numbers, which both sucks and blows...baaaaah this whole thing sucks!! but good luck to those who do get in

I'm convinced it's NOT all about the numbers. At UF, Dr. Sposetti threw out the stat that if it was only about numbers that the average gpa would be a 3.98 instead of the 3.5ish that it is. So they're obviously looking at factors other than numbers. Keep your head up, bro!

And JB, you heard about the early morning phone call too huh? Did you hear that from a current student? I'm really not going to get any sleep thursday night...
