I am in my final year of residency and job hunting. Got an offer in my locality as a contractor at the state hospital. Rate is 115$/hr for Board Eligible and 125$/hr for Board certified. Is this a good rate please?

sure it's pretty good....not out of line. Whether it's just average or good would depend on things like do they include your malpractice with it. How many hours a week you get. Do you get any benefits with it? im guessing no if you are a contractor....that sort of stuff....

psych is one of the lowest paying fields, and most salaried state hospital jobs start off around 160-165k/year salaried. Although there is a big range- I've heard as low as 130 and as high starting out as ~200k/year salaried.....

No benefits. This is a 40hours clinic job. Yeah state salaries are within that range here as I was told.

Depends on many things including location. This is a fair rate for many places. Considering it's only contract work it's just ok.
