I’m a current D4 who has matched into OMFS. I’m unsure of where I’d like to live after residency, but I have a few states in mind, specifically in the southeast region. Would it be wise to obtain a dental license in the state(s) I might be interested in now, in case they change requirements or limit the number of new licenses in the future? Is this a valid thought process or simply a waste of money? Also, would an OMFS or other specialist likely be exempt from such concerns?
