hi!

i just had a question. is it hard to get into a masters in psych program if you're out of state? or is it easier to get into an in state program?

how long are masters in psych programs usually?

any responses would be of great help! thanks!!

I don't believe there is a difference in competitiveness, though there can be a large difference in the cost. If you attend a state school as an out-of-state student, your tuition could be 2x (or more) than an in-state student. I believe the residency requirement for in-state tuition is 1 year, so it is definitely a consideration.

I also didn't find any difference between the level of competition of in-state vs. out-of state programs. Main difference, as mentioned, was funding; although some out-of state programs offered me tuition waivers and a stipend. If you research carefully, you can find funded programs out of state.
