Hi!
Can we try and compile a list of state schools that allow you to switch to IS status and pay in-state tuition after one year?
For example, I think Ohio State allows you to become an in-state student and pay in-state tuition after one year.
However, OHSU (Oregon) keeps you OOS all four years if you matriculate as an OOS student.

Are there any others?

U of Missouri - Columbia and some of the NY schools (I can't remember exact names)

Ohio State is one for sure. They told me about 90% of OOS students are reclassified after their first year.

I think a lot do provided you establish residency/domicile in the state for a year. It might be easier to get a list of ones that don't.

A Texas Tech alumnus told me about some kind of loophole in the state laws in which TT gives you a small scholarship, and that somehow negates OOS status and lets you get instate tuition. It was pretty nebulous the way she told me, so take it with a grain of salt.

You can be reclassified as IS at Maryland after a year, but there are some hoops you have to jump through first.

Anecdotally, virtually every OOS med student in Texas receives a $1,000 per year scholarship that qualifies them for in-state tuition. The same law applies to undergraduate studies, as well.
