Statement of Purpose: postbacc/Masters

I have been working on my Masters and post-bacc (mostly 1 year masters) applications and I am having trouble with the statement of purpose. I have found a few sites online with guidelines but not much else.

I guess I am just a little confused about the difference between a personal statement and statement of purpose. How personal do I get in the SoP? Also, the prompt says about 1-2 pages...is this single or double spaced. If anyone has examples of SoP's I could take a look at that would be great as well.
