AAAARRRRGGGGGG!!!!!!!

i think you know how i feel

uhh dude it's mid-December. Your letter-writers are going to be pissed at you. No one in academia is going to be sending or receiving mail from Dec. 20 to Jan 7th.

Hopefully you weren't planning to apply THIS cycle... anyway, good luck!

Applying to two research orient clinical masters. One has deadlines of Jan 1 and the other Jan 15. So I'm still in good shape.

Re: the letter writers, mine are already out and three of the four have submitted to the school. Is it customary to turn in your SOP when you ask for a rec? I just sat down and talked with mine.

I think it's preferred, but every prof is different. I'm not a prof (TA), but I've never had an undergrad ready with a personal statement when they asked for a letter--most don't even know that I don't provide the stamps! I know I showed my personal statement to two of my letter writers; the other one made me write my own letter and then revised it (ridiculous, I know).

Wow, what is up with people making such rude comments to others on this forum? Has anyone else noticed this lately? I think it's uncalled for. We are trying to become psychologists, so why do people feel a need to go out of thier way to make a snippy comment and make others feel stupid or feel bad about themselves? I don't get it

Maybe "pug" is short for "pugnacious"? 😉

yup. there is lot more snark than is amusing. it bothered me a lot when i first started posting. by now i figure its just one of those things you have put up with in a public forum.

Honestly, I notice a lot of snobbery in the field, as well.

Ditto. That's a big part of why I bailed on psych after undergrad. Now of course, I'm back like a boomerang. 🙄

thanks, I'm pretty set on editors.

BUT

ummmm.... why would some random email address do that.... and for free? I think you have to tell people a lot more about who is doing the editor and what is there motivation before someone considers sending it? seems mad sketchy this way
