Hey everyone,

I'm trying to plan out my schedule. I'll be applying this June. I'm wondering when to expect interviews, assuming I am given any. For those who apply in June and submit the secondaries within a week of receipt, when should I expect 50%, 80%, and 100% of my interviews to be offered?

I'm trying to find out because I'm a dual national that has to fit in a mandatory military service that lasts 6 months. It would be nice to use the empty time to take care of this since i'm out of school.

It depends on the school and how they see your application - I had one interview each in Sept, Oct, Nov - none in December and then 2 in Feb. With your situation you could maybe call and ask when they do the majority of their interviews?

unfortunately, this is almost impossible to answer. However, there is ONE guarantee.....100% of your interviews will be done by May 15th. 😉

Roger that. It's impossible to know. Once this cycle I was offerent an interview 2 weeks after I was confirmed complete at a school. Once it was 3 months.

Schools will often indicate how long it will be until you here of a interview or not once your application is "complete" (i.e., primary and secondary are in, letters of rec are in, other documents, etc.).

Many schools, unfortunately, will review your application each period they offer interviews and will not let you know of a decision until the last interviews are handed out.

Did someone mention do you that this process isn't fun?

Most of my friends last year had their primary done in late June and a quick turnaround on secondarys. They had most of their interviews by December with only 2 people having 1 interview each in Febuary. But, if you are interviewing that late, theres a good chance you are just interviewing for a spot on the waitlist so missing it may not be the worst thing in the world.

I am applying this summer and plan on submitting my primary on the first few days, sticking around til December, then leaving the country in January for 5 months. I am not worried about the interview issue.

so much waiting. Why the certainty by may 15th?

you can only hold one acceptance after May 15th. That also marks the certain official end to interviewing.

It could be three days or 5-6 months. While not completely stochastic, it certainly can feel that way.

I had a quick turn around with my applications the last time. I got two invites in July (one interview in September, and one I had to schedule in October), then I got another invite in September (for October), and another one into October (for November).

I basically got one interview offer a month throughout the whole cycle, of course here and there I'd get more than one a month, but you get my drift.
