I need recommendations on how to raise my stats score. I am doing very poorly in stats. My timing is miserable. And my performance is miserable on all topics on Kaplan/USMLE World that I can think of except sens/spec/ppv/npv.

When I did Kaplan Q banks stats questions timed I got 40%. I do much better when not timed (did same questions untimed right after the test and got 76%). The UW includes a lot of stats topics that Kaplan Q bank/books do not cover. UW has over 60 questions and these are way harder than any Kaplan Q-Bank questions.

What would you recommmend that I do to improve in stats. I have heard all the lectures, gone through all the review books out there. I have an understanding of the material, more or less, I think, but when asked questions I cannot answer them. Rereading is not an option, as I recognize the text (know it well enough to probably give a lecture to someone who has no stats knowledge whatsoever). I have a problem applying what I think I understand.

Anyone doing well on UW/Kaplan stats? I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks.

How come no one likes stats? Seriously though, I really need suggestions on how to improve. Where are all the past test takers?

Do you have trouble with timing on everything, or just stats questions?
