Where did you find that list? I dont believe its correct.

Going to have to agree those are some awfully low numbers for PCOM.
Looks like a random home made spreadsheet.
I got into GA-PCOM, and my stats for my senior year were something like this...
12ppg
8 rpg
Or something like that. Its been a while.

I was kind of a combo forward. Mostly a high post. We had an all-state center, and my job was to stay out of his way. I sat at the free throw line and shot wide open jumpers. Most of my points came from that and putbacks.
When our big guy went out of the game, I'd move inside.

what position did you play? small forward?
can i get in if im just a bench warmer
8 rpg would be killer as a wing. As a bench warmer they are going to look good and hard at your mpg, if I were you I'd get in a rec league and fight for a starting position so med schools will be able to know you can handle the pressure of starting.
I rarely stepped out to the wing.

Those are the real numbers as reported by schools to USNews...for 2005. (I spent the $15 too.)

I didn't make up the numbers. They are from US News and World Report. If you have more recent data, feel free to post it! I see a lot of whining about the numbers looking odd, but nothing to back it up.

I just whined that the numbers are low. I am not refuting them. 😉 It just caught me off guard because I keep getting told that if I don't score above a 30 I am doomed.
Ha!!! Then there is something wrong with the adcom because I got in with a 24. But I am also IS. But I would not believe that for a second. I'm on the lower end of competitive for PCOM in terms of MCAT scores but you certainly dn't need a 30. But just don't believe what some people say about osteopathic schools being "easy" to get into - they are becoming more competitive especially with PCOM getting the most applicants every year and the entrance stats are increasing.
With PCOM, although they like instate students, would they weigh someone who went to undergrad in PA slightly higher than someone with no affiliation with the state? I intend to apply there, and will even have a recommendation from a person who used to be on the adcom, but I fear that my state residency (florida) will kind of push me into pcom-ga, which is a fine school but I have the large majority of my friends in philly and would much rather be there. I don't expect them to weigh me as heavily as an instater, but hopefully heavier than someone with no affiliation whatsoever.

This is pretty much what I was doing, a 21.9 avg for the MCAT for PCOM? That is crazy talk, even if it is true

It's a 24 average MCAT for PCOM, dear. You were looking at PCSOM (Pikeville).

IMHO, I think PCOM does favor ISers more than OOSers.
I think the OP should have put PCOM in all caps. Once I read it as stats for prom, then I just read it again and thought it said stats for porn. Just not good.![]()

Me too!Me too!
I had to read it again too after I thought I had read stats for porn. I thought it was just me. 😀

Yea, I know they do, but I was wondering if there was a middle point where a person who attending college and has lots of connections in the region got favored over someone with no connections to the state. I went to psu, and the vast majority of my friends are in philly along with distance relatives. That is why I was wondering!

Maybe we all have our minds in the gutter.

This is what I was told by admissions here: all things being equal between two candidates, if one is IS and one is OOS, they'll take the IS. As long as you're a competative applicant no need to worry.

Solly, solly. Too many P...COM. That makes alot more sense.
Some of those numbers are from 2005 while general consensus is that the numbers are going up. I, personally, think those numbers are kinda outdated and some what skewed(some stats from 06 and some from 05). What's the hold up with USnews ranking updates... $15 for outdated data🙄Almost all the stats are on this file.
But then again it gives pretty~ comprehensive(but outdated) info of all the medschools.
So, one should consider those # with a grain of salt and lots of it.

Yea. Thanks. I'm not that competitive gpa wise, but I do have an assload of ECs and experience. MCAT..well, we'll find out. My goal is a 33, which is perfectly doable for me.
