This process is so weird. I have a 3.35 gpa, 32S on the mcats, loads of ec's & med exp, and have yet to even be offered an interview at PCOM. <img src="graemlins/pity.gif" border="0" alt="[Pity]" />

My friend, who has probably the most impressive stats I have seen (already interviewed by 5 Allopathic and 2 Osteopathic schools) JUST recieved an interview at PCOM.

I had my 2ary in by late September, I think. I've had interviews other places - and am happy w/ what I've seen - been accepted and stuff. But I've heard so much about PCOM (one of the DOs I work w/ went there - a great guy) that I'm curious to check the place out.

But what I really wanted to call attention to was how odd the whole process sometimes seems. For instance, I noticed on another thread that someone had been rejected from Einstein w/out an interview but been admitted to Cornell... From what I've seen so far, I have to say that the DO schools are much more faithful to what they say they're interested in: ie, non-trad, well-rounded etc. Just another reason to be enthused abt DO school: it's not all just a load of advertising "new paradigm" gilt obscuring the same old crap...!

Einey, you haven't interviewed yet? What's up w/ that?

I think PCOM is just taking longer than everyone else. I have received interviews from every single one of the DO schools I applied to, except for PCOM. This seems to be their method - wait until the last minute. Or they just have more applicants, who knows.

my file was complete around december 7th, and they contacted me right after for an interview. i just interviewed at PCOM yesterday. they book their interviews about 7-8 weeks ahead. i really think they look at the whole picture and what your offering. i know people who got with scores arund 20 and people who got in with scores above 30. i really think posting YOUR scores is worthless. it doensn't mean anything for anyone else. its not your scores that will make you or break you there.

I agree with the last poster.

Numbers are an individual thing, and PCOM looks at more than numbers.

I just got my acceptance letter today from Philadelphia. i interviewed on Wednesday Jan 23. the letter was dated for that same day, so the committee met that afternoon for the month of january. i heard from other people who also got their letters yesterday and today. if you interviewed in january, you should be getting something soon! good luck everyone!

Hey- My friend sent in his application very late in the game (we'll say Early-mid January) because he was waiting for his post bacc grades to become available. Does anyone know if this is too late in the game to have a shot?
