My DATs are 18 AA, 19 PAT, 20 TS, 23 OC, 17 GC, 21 BIO, 15 RC, and 14 QR. My gpa overall is 2.85 and my science is 3.14 and BCP 3.12. I wonder if those stats could get me into one of those schools. I have 18,000 ECs.

Residency status: IL

1. Marquette
2. UIC
3. USC
4. Ohio State
5. UDM
6. Howard.

Your RC and QR are concerning and are most likely below cutoffs for these schools, as is your overall GPA. If you want to give it a shot this cycle, then I think you should apply to more private schools (Case, LECOM, etc). Also, remove Howard if you aren't URM.

If you don't apply this cycle (which I think would be smart to do), I would say retake the DAT, and get above 18 on all sections. Also either do an informal post-bac or a master's program to raise your GPA and show dental schools you can handle rigorous coursework. After these two aspects of your app are good, then apply next cycle to like 15+ schools. Good luck.

Gpa is pretty low. With the lower dat scores, chances are slim.

I know what EC stands for, but you have eighteen thousand hours worth of ECs? And ok you can say it isn't very important but it still doesn't meet the cutoff.

I just gave you my opinion earlier on your stats- if you want to apply this cycle, add more schools because those six aren't enough. Your QR doesn't meet the cutoff for Marquette or USC, and UIC and OSU are public schools are have slightly higher averages than private schools, and Howard wouldn't be wise to apply to if you aren't a minority. Your stats are pretty low, and if you want to get in this cycle, you're going to need to apply to more schools.

I think the best course of action would be to wait a year to bring your GPA and DAT up, and apply next cycle, but that's up to you. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!

I agree with artist, three big red flags are 15RC, 14QR, and the overall gpa. I say the best is too not apply this cycle and prepare for next by retaking DAT and doing some informal post bac. If money is not an issue apply to more private schools (15+). I don’t know what EC you do, but it seems like you don’t have to worry about that section. The GPA and DAT are the biggest things dental schools first look at and you have to compare with other applicants who have potentially better scores. In most cases due to the overall gpa being sub-3.0 you want to offset that with a high DAT, 21+. Take my advice with a grain of salt though.

I think they're like BTU's, but I'm not sure about the stoichiometric conversion. If this runs at 7,000 BTU, the OP must be running pretty hot.
