OK guys i need some advice. Started a post-bacc program at a medical university where Im trying to gain admission to dental school next cycle. (didnt get in this cycle). My grades are fine for this program and I originally started the program with hopes of boasting my gpa and resume. We start clinicals in the fall in which I will receive no grade(pass/fail). I really dont like this program and recently got offered a job making a great starting salary and affords me the opportunity to continue shadowing with a dentist where the job is located. I am in knots trying to figure if I should stay in this program.

As stated previously my gpa for the post bacc is great, I just have zero desire to continue in this field (i was mildly interested when I started but mainly did it as a resume boaster with upper level science courses.) If I quit before clinicals start will this reflect poorly on my application?? Should I just be honest about quitting if I get an interview this cycle? Thanks in advance

I would probably stick to it. You will get great clinical experience which will be awesome because manual dexterity really helps in dental school.

Ya Ive thought of that but the manual dexterity is really unrelated. I really cant specify what the program is Im in right now until I decide what the next move is. And I will have much more relevant manual experience assisting with the dentist I shadow.
The main question is will it reflect poorly if I quit my current program of study but have good grades? I would probably continue to take some science courses at the university near the potential job site. Im really sick of spending money on something I have no desire to do if it is not helping the weaker part of my application.

If you got a great job offer, I would take the job because it would allow you to save up for the application process and save up for dental school so you won't have to take out so many loans. Applying to dental school is very expensive!

as long as you are able to explain why you quit during interviews or any possible supplementary essays
then go for it

What kind of job pays well, and lets you shadow a dentist? If you're talking about becoming a dental assistant, then others may be able to tell how much that helped them. There are a bunch of current/former assistants here. If you're talking about something else, I'd love to hear more about it, because it sounds interesting.
