So I'm on my Rads rotation right now and cannot stay awake. Yes, I know that everybody tends to fall asleep behind the resident/attending while they are dictating. But I seriously have a hard time even when they are teaching and showing me stuff! The only time I snap out of it is when there is some procedure going on. I can't even stay awake during lecture... This entire rotation, I just feel like I'm in some sort of stupor.
Is this a bad sign? Again, I know most students are dozing off during this rotation, but shouldn't one be able to stay awake when actually being taught things? I know Rads is a field that requires a lot of self-motivation, so I'm a bit concerned about what this all means. I think part of it is that it's so dark and quiet all the time!
I still think Rads is an interesting field, and I have a rotation at another hospital with a better reputation for teaching in a few weeks. I was just wondering if anybody who went into Rads had the same problem and managed to overcome it?
