Hi all,
I am kind of confused at the moment. I have been searching for the best possible combinations of review books for Step 1 and have researched all over this site and others and cannot come to a conclusion as to which books to buy. What it has come down to at the moment is this:

BRS
Pathology
Physiology

High Yield
Histology
Neuroanatomy
Behavioral
Molecular/Cell
Anatomy
Embryology
Micro

Lippincotts Biochemistry
Lippincotts Pharmacology

Also Micro made ridiculously simple, Immuno/Micro by Lange

Now these are a lot of books to get so I want to make sure I do it right the first time. It seems as though High Yield is favored more than BRS? Are those really the only two books I should get from BRS. Is this the way to go or can anyone comment on any books that should be BRS rather than High Yield or High Yield rather than BRS.

Thank you for all your help

I'd scratch HY Histo, Behavioral, Micro, and probably Anatomy. I would also avoid buying Lippincotts Biochem and Pharm if you're getting them just for step one review.

Otherwise, I'd say it's a solid list if used appropriately.

I agree with above poster. I took Step 1 last year and scored above mean. I would not get HY micro if you are using MMRS which will be plenty on its own. Also you don't need HY histo or anatomy, First Aid is sufficient for these. I would however stick with the HY behavioral, I think students often overlook this subject and I think I remember hearing that up to 10% of questions can come from this. I can't really recall how much my test had, I basically have blocked that entire day from my memory so sorry. I also agree not to get the Lippincott's, I just don't see how you will have time for all of that. I used BRS biochem and actually didn't even finish that. FA pharm is good enough, you could use Boards & Wards pharm which is also good if you really want more.
