do any of you guys know the dates available for step 1 next year? I'm trying to schedule a wedding which is complicated by not knowing when I have to take the test.

You should have an idea of when you're going to take it based on when your 2nd year ends and 3rd year starts considering most people take 4-6 weeks to study. The test is offered Mon-Sat I think and people on SDN were taking it as early as January, with a larger bulk taking it May-July. So you can pretty much pick a day of the week and a month of the year to take it.
