I know the official deadline for applying this year is Sept. but is there a deadline like say, you have to apply 2 months before the date you want to take the exam.

I know the earlier the better, but the 445$ to apply is a little daunting right now and want to know if I am taking any big chance by waiting to a more financially favorable time. I am not planning on taking it on a day that is in any big demand.

Lets see, i applied on line, and immediately got a printable form to send in with the "rape me" check for 445$. Then about 3 weeks later i got an email that said they got my money, i'm registered...blah, blah... and need to set up a test date with prometric. From there I set up the date online. I know from people who set up their date too late with prometric that they couldn;t take it the day they wanted to. So, I would give myself at least 2-3 months of leeway time if you absolutely want to take your test on a certain day. Otherwise i think 1 1/2 to 2 months is fine.

Oh btw how do you know the day you want to take it is in no particular demand? There will be other people in their taking typing tests, the GRE, MCATs, etcc........

very funny!

As far as my day not being in high demand, this was according to my academic advisor who said I shouldn't have any problem getting my date because most people were taking it earlier.
