Step 1 Expiration after GMO

If you took Step 1 at the end of second year, finished medical school and did a TY internship followed by 4 year GMO-land, wouldn’t your step 1 score expire by the time you want to match in a civilian residency. I haven’t heard anyone talk about that as an issue on SDN so I’m assuming that’s isn’t how things work. Could anyone clarify? Thank you!

To be a GMO you have to pass Step 3 and get a license. At that point no one cares how long ago you took step 1.
