step 1 extension procedure

Has anyone extended the step 1 exam on here? And how long in advance do u have to submit a request for extension?

currently the date is june 25th, but i feel overwhelmed right now and need at least 2wks more.

The only problem is my permit lasts until june 30th so i cant view available dates in july. So am i able to even extend?

Yes, You can extend. Go back to oasis site and there should be a place where you can extend your 3 month slot. THere is a $50fee. They will then send you an email in 2 - 3 days with approval and tell you that a new permit will be issued soon.

You can then pick a new date with the new permit#.

how many days in advance of the test did u request extension? can i wait till next week to request extension?

I did it approx a week ahead of the exam. Make sure to cancel your prometric appointment as well
