for people who have taken step 1, what would you go back and do around 6 months before ur test date to start preparing? Ive seen tons of intense 4-6 week study plans for right before the exam, but what would you start doing ahead of time to take the edge of those horrible weeks?

ive been reading through first aid and it doenst seem like glancing of that is helping much. should i start doing tons of q bank stuff or what would you recommend?

Prefaced with I have NOT taken it. Consider Gunner training though. It's a more active way to get the material in your head, and if you bank all the questions/review them as scheduled, you'll be a lot stronger once you start that 4-6 weeks of hell.

Long-term prep isn't really any different from short-term prep, conceptually speaking. Use the appropriate review texts plus practice questions with whatever you're studying. You might also consider breezing through the M1 stuff in FA (biochem and embryo, most notably).
