step 1 score and future pediatrician

iam an intern right now,and wondering about step 1. actually confused
how might my score should be for pediatrics residency.?? is it important more than step 2 for appyling ?? or total USMLE score ??

I'm assuming your an IMG, as an AMG would have taken the USMLE and/or COMLEX Steps 1 and 2 by now. While peds is not super competitive, most programs would prefer a 200+, as an IMG going for peds, aim for at least a 215. The Step 1 is considered more important, however the step 2 is still important and should be at least a 200 and a pass on the CS portion, many IMGs have difficulty with the CS if English is not their first language. Do you have US clinicals? US obseverships? Are you from Ross, SGU, AUC or SABA? Without more information it is difficult to accurately guess about your success.

And how would a college freshman/beginning sophomore know about the preferences of "most programs" specific to IMGs in pediatrics, etc?
