I've heard your school admins get your STEP 1 scores earlier than you. Is this true? Anyone know how much earlier?

My admin said that morning before you do around lunch.

Not sure if people still read this thread, but I heard that you can have your step 1 score not reported to your current medical school. I was just wondering, why does that option exist? As in what are some of the pros and cons of actually not letting your school know your step 1 score?
