I have about 6 weeks to take Step I, and I was planning on going through First Aid, Goljan, and UW questions. I wanted to try out the Taus method, since I hear a lot of good things about it. However, I only have 6 weeks, so I'm not sure if I should even bother with it. My tentative plan is to just read through FA(starting with weak points to strong points) and if there is a relative Path section, I will also read the chapter from Goljan. I also plan on doing a random timed block every day, and probably 2 blocks when the test date comes closer. I already made one pass of First Aid during my last semester, so I have had some exposure.

I feel like this is good, but afraid it might be too minimal. Thoughts?

Too little time in my opinion to do Taus type method. If you had done the first annotation pass during class, you could make it work.

I'd do 2 blocks a day and ramp up from there. That way you can hit your missed Qs again before the test.

I pretty much just read FA, read the corresponding BRS Physio and Goljan RR with UW and did well.

I had about 4 weeks to study. I used the last 2 weeks of the Taus plan and did it twice. First run through I did the exact schedule and did 10 days. After reassessing weaknesses I did another run through for 14 days while adding more supplemental sources to address weaknesses.

I did two 48 question blocks of UW random untimed and read all the explanations as my 1st half, FA/RR and some HY series and other notes as my 2nd half of a typical day. I did an assessment before I started, another one after 1st run through, another one halfway through my 2nd run through, and 2 more same day after I finished. I re-read weak areas in FA, went over all my incorrect UW, and did HY stuff the last few days before the exam.

I believe the plan worked well, you just have to adjust it to your weaknesses. (if you feel weak on physio, incorporate BRS Physio) I used the exact plan as my 1st run through b/c I wanted to make sure I covered everything well, even my strong areas. My 2nd run through was an adjustment as I added and removed sources.

Like DrBowtie mentioned you should probably start at 2 blocks a day to ensure you finish. Read FA as much as you can and use supplemental sources when necessary.

You have plenty of time to know FA cold and UW will really help with the stuff not in FA
