Hi. I'm trying to get a good score and I have 6 weeks to study. I'm a bit confused on which approach to use. My school advising is strongly agasint using just first Aid and qbank. The schedule they gave us involve reading review books. Ie 3 days to read BRS path book and each day do bank. And repeat w each subject. Is high yield neuro and do neuro bank. Use first aid when reviewing questions to look things up. Anyone got any ideas on what I should do? Time is so precious right now I want to make the most out of it. Thanks

And also for nbme exams do they have explanations? I see some ppl doing a bunch of them so wondering if they provide explanations like uworld

Since time's precious, I'd suggest FA + UWorld (FA over u-world)... if you need explanation about something you don't understand in FA.. use the extra books your school suggested (or do just like me, and use wikipedia - I know, I'll take my chances).

With time a bit short here is what I would do. Timed sets of 50 questions from USMLEWorld. Take detailed notes on the answers (the ones you get wrong and right). Continually review these notes, over and over. Additionally, try to get through sections of first aid. Do this repeatedly until you are done for the day. Wash, rinse, repeat. Take a NBME if you want to assess your weak areas but they will probably become evident from USMLEWorld as well.

And what's the point if doing nbme exams if there are no explanations?

No explanations, people say they've had exact repeats of questions (not sure if this is a myth or not). It helps you point out your week areas.

I've really enjoyed UWSA 1, gives me a "rough" estimate of where I am and you get excellent detailed responses.

Thanks everyone. I guess i wont' be doing NBME tests since there's no explanations... prob not the best use of my time

I'll do those UW self assessments.

my school keeps saying there schedule is good for 6 weeks. and the point is not to memorize thru reading the books, but just to familarize. you mainly learn from questions..
