Step 2 and app

Do you guys think Step 2 scores are essential on the app?

I haven't taken it yet, and am debating whether to do it soon, or give myself more time to study, so it will look better for ranking purposes.

I did well on Step 1, and I'm afraid of falling backwards--which would be bad. But then I worry I may not get interview offers without the score--which would also be bad.

What do you think? Thanks.
